A brief Q & A with Laura Enos, Tribal Health's Newest Public Health Nurse

What are the primary duties of your new position?
I will be working closely with the primary care teams to provide a range of public health services in the St. Ignatius area, with a focus on strengthening Maternal Child Health services. Along with the Public Health team, I will focus on building healthy communities by promoting healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
Where did you receive your education?
University of Arizona, College of Nursing (Tucson, Arizona) - BSN
Grand Canyon University, College of Nursing (Phoenix, Arizona) – currently working towards a Master’s of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Public Health degree.
What is your prior experience relevant to your new position?
I worked as a Community Health Nurse, Director of Public Health Nursing, and Department of Preventative Medicine Deputy Director in Whiteriver, Arizona (Indian Health Service) for the last four years.

I was born and raised in a small town in Massachusetts
Why did you choose a career in health?
Working in healthcare is truly a rewarding choice that allows me to nurture my desire to help others and make a difference in their lives.
What are you excited about in your new position?
I am looking forward to learning about the community and being able to utilize my passion, knowledge, and experience to provide care to the population.
What activities and/or hobbies do you pursue in your free time?
I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, spending time at the lake, and exercising.
