Nicole Cirilli
Diabetes Program Clinical Dietitian
Credentials: Registered dietitian and licensed nutritionist
Primary duties of new position: Providing nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy to Tribal Health patients, especially in the Diabetes Program. I will be available in Arlee, Mission, Polson, and via telehealth for clinical nutrition consults.
Education: I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont in Burlington Vermont and my dietetic internship from Montana State University. I was an intern at Tribal Health during that time.
Prior experience: Prior to my new position, I was the clinical outpatient dietitian at Community Medical Center in Missoula.
Tribal status: I am not a tribal member.
Where I am from: I am from a small town in New Jersey about 40 miles from New York City.
Why I chose a career in health: My mom is my biggest role model and she was an ICU nurse her entire adult life. I almost became a nurse like her, but decided I loved food so much so became a clinical dietitian instead. I have always been passionate about improving health outcomes through the healing power of food.
Excited about new position: Yes, I am very excited to begin my new position at Tribal Health. I am most looking forward to working with my new colleagues and patients in the diabetes program and to learn lots more about the food culture and traditions of the community I will be practicing in.
Activities in free time: I love to spend time in the kitchen with friends and family cooking fun new recipes or traditional family recipes. Additionally, I spend lots of times exploring the outdoors with my energetic dog Nellie.
